The Destination Wedding of Kimberlie and James Part I
5:02 PM
With three charming kids a and handful of miniature pot-bellied pigs, Kimberlie and James are not the traditional kind of newlyweds. Kimberlie and I felt a connection from the first phone call inquiring about an engagement and family session for her family during their visit to San Diego. Conversation quickly turned to her need for a destination wedding photographer. A destination wedding is always a treat to photograph, and I am beyond grateful that this lovely Colorado based couple chose me.
The Ceremony and Reception were both at Azul Fives in Playa del Carmen atop the Zky (Sky) Bar overlooking the glimmering blue waters of the Caribbean Sea.
This is one cool couple, and their laid back style proved to be integral as the day unfolded. The weather was beautiful for their Ceremony and the rain nearly held out the entire day. More about that in Part II...
I love this modern backdrop, a great contrast to the leafy green tropical surroundings. |
Stealing some alone time, finishing up her vows. |
James, Cayden and Cody, what a handsome trio! |
James' kindness and charm was apparent throughout the day, and in this image. |
Hello Beautiful! Kimberlie and I were consistently on the same page leading up to the wedding. Clear expectations and open communication are especially important for destination wedding photography. |
One of my favorite images, of one of my favorite brides! |
The prettiest pair: Addison and Kimberlie |
A sweet idea, reading handwritten love letters before walking down the aisle. |
I love how he is checking out his bride! |
A sand ceremony incorporating the whole family. |
